The purpose of this study, funded by the Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute (AHURI), is to investigate the role of current housing assistance arrangements, housing wealth and mortgages in individuals’ employment decisions. The study also explores whether bequests or parental cash transfers, which are typically financed (directly or indirectly) through housing wealth, lower work effort and participation in skills and training programs.
