The new research, Gender Equity Insights 2026: Unlocking Australia’s Workplace Potential, from the Bankwest Curtin Economics Centre (BCEC) and the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA), will be released in a national online launch event on Tuesday 13 October.

This year marks over 10 years of partnership between the BCEC and WGEA, and more than a decade of transforming the information reported by Australian employers into evidence about what works to advance gender equality.

More than 10,000 employers across Australia have contributed to building a unique evidence base that’s driving national conversation and reshaping public policy and debate.

To mark this occasion, we are reflecting on what a decade of evidence has taught us – what has worked, where progress has proved harder, and what those lessons mean for Australian workplaces in the years ahead.

The new report identifies where progress has accelerated, where it has stalled, and the workplace policies and practices that are making the greatest difference.

It also places gender equality firmly within Australia’s broader economic and productivity challenge – recognising the significant opportunity to make better use of women’s skills, experience and leadership.

Join us for an engaging online conversation with reflections from WGEA CEO Christine Castley, alongside a briefing on the brand new research from BCEC Director Professor Alan Duncan and Senior Research Fellow Dr Silvia Salazar, moderated by ABC Perth’s Nadia Mitsopoulos. Hear what a decade of evidence tells us, and contribute to the conversation about the next decade of progress.
