Biography

Yashar is a Senior Analyst at the WA Department of Treasury. Prior to this role, he was a Research Fellow with the Bankwest Curtin Economics Centre and a Lecturer in the School of Economics, Finance and Property at Curtin University.

As a part of his research agenda, he has worked on research articles with national and overseas collaborators. Before joining BCEC, Yashar worked as a Lecturer and Teaching Assistant at several WA universities. Yashar also brought his significant industry experience in IT, Banking and Finance where he worked in different capacities such as Analyst, Business Consultant and Senior Manager.

With a primary interest in Data Analytics and Applied Econometrics, Yashar enjoys working on research focused on Macroeconomics, Environment and Energy, and Health economics. Government Debt and Macroeconomic Interactions, Economics analysis of Energy, environment and health are also among Yashar’s research interests. Recently Yashar started to explore empirical aspects of Big Data analysis and how data visualisation could help economic studies.
