Biography

Michael is a PhD student with the Bankwest Curtin Economics Centre. He has started his PhD under the supervision of Professor Astghik Mavisakalyan, Professor Alan Duncan and Dr Lili Loan Vu.

Before starting his PhD, he completed his bachelor’s and Honours at Curtin University receiving first-class honours for his thesis on housing and wellbeing under the supervision of Professor Rachel Ong ViforJ and Christopher Phelps. He also undertook a summer internship with BCEC in 2020 and 2021 where he assisted on various projects, including the report “Housing Affordability in WA: A tale of two tenures” published in 2021.

The current focus of his research is econometric analysis of the intersections between health, welfare, income and poverty.
