Project Summary

While previous research has primarily focused on what contributes to poor tenancy outcomes among Indigenous people, very little is known about what contributes to successful tenancies.

Using a combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods, this research will explore what constitutes successful tenancies in the eyes of Indigenous Australians, factors associated with successful tenancies and present case studies of initiatives that have been successful in promoting Indigenous tenancy.

The project is being led by the Future of Employment and Skills Research Centre at the University of Adelaide and is funded through an AHURI National Housing Research Program grant. An AHURI report is expected to be published upon completion.
