Project Summary

Corruption is pervasive, yet we know little about its effects on individual lives. This project examines whether living in a corrupt society may have deleterious effects on health. Using nationally-representative survey data from 28 post-communist countries, we analyse the relationship between bribing and health as well as explore the mechanisms underlying this relationship. The project will provide implications for policy interventions targeting the issues of health and wellbeing in deficient institutional settings.
