Surf’s SUP! Chris Twomey takes out two titles at State SUP surfing competition
Chris Twomey, Bankwest Curtin Economics Centre’s Senior Industry Fellow, has taken home two titles in the 2021 Stand Up Surf Shop WA SUP Surfing Titles in Geraldton in late July.
Held along the Batavia coastline, Chris won both the WA Open Men’s Champion 2021 title and the WA Over 50 Men’s Champion 2021 title, successfully defending both of his State Championship Titles from 2020.
“It was a fantastic weekend of surfing, with some exciting new competitors joining us in the Juniors and Women’s divisions,” Chris said. “I am really pleased to see SUP surfing growing in both popularity and skill.
“We look forward to putting together a competitive team for this year’s National Titles at Phillip Island in October.”
