Bankwest Curtin Economics Centre launched their new report, Bridging the Gap: Population, skills and labour market adjustment in WA, on Friday 9 September 2022.

This report takes a rigorous look at skills shortages and labour market dynamics in WA and provides a fresh conceptual look at what skills shortages are, new evidence on how they arise, and potential responses by government and industry.

The report also explores barriers that prevent fuller engagement in the labour force as well as solutions in the short and longer term to improve access to employment opportunities, and capitalise on Australia’s potential workforce talent.
