BCEC researchers scoop up awards at the 2019 Curtin University Research and Engagement Awards

Congratulations to BCEC Director Alan Duncan and Head of Research Impact and Engagement Rebecca Cassells for receiving the 2019 Most Outstanding Curtin Research News Story for the BCEC.WGEA Gender Equity Insights report, Breaking through the Glass Ceiling.

Alan also received the prestigious 2019 award for the Most Prolific Media Commentator across Curtin University’s Faculty of Business and Law. Rebecca also received the Top Five Media Commentator Award across Curtin’s Faculty of Business and Law. These awards recognise their outstanding contribution to media engagement for the Centre, the Faculty of Business and Law, and Curtin University.

Alan and Rebecca have appeared regularly on TV, radio and in print media over the course of the year, providing expert commentary and analysis across a host of topics relating to public policy including the state of the Australian and West Australian economy, gender equity, educational outcomes, labour markets, immigration and housing policy.

Curtin University’s annual Research and Engagement Awards are designed to recognise academic staff who have made an outstanding contribution to raising Curtin University’s share of positive media coverage over the past 12 months.
