The Bankwest Curtin Economics Centre launched the first report in the Focus on Industry report series – a new research program that focuses on specific Industry Insights.

The report titled From Paddock to Plate: WA’s potential in agriculture and agribusiness was launched on Friday 23 September 2016 at the Hyatt in Perth and attracted over 250 guests from industry, academia, not-for-profit, government and media.

The report findings were presented by the BCEC Director, Professor Alan Duncan and BCEC Senior Research Fellow and Report Lead, Doctor Kenneth Leong.

Professor Duncan and Doctor Leong discussed the key challenges, risks and policy issues requiring attention to ensure that WA agribusiness secures its place at the global dinner table.

We would like to thank those who attended the launch and hope the report findings generate much needed discussion for opportunities to deliver agricultural produce to global export markets.

We also thank our MC, Pip Courtney, host presenter and reporter for ABC’s Landline; and our expert panellists, Elizabeth Brennan, Company Secretary and Board Director representing WA, Australian Women in Agriculture; Andrew Crane, Chief Executive Officer, CBH Group and Ralph Addis, Director General, WA Department of Regional Development.
