Retirement Incomes and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians: Submission to the Treasury Retirement Incomes Review

The purpose of this submission is to impress upon the Secretariat and Treasury researchers conducting the review of Australia’s retirement income system of the need to include a focus on the adequacy of retirement incomes for Indigenous Australians and to highlight the current lack of evidence relating to this issue.
The author encourages the Review to consider outcomes for Indigenous Australians in more depth, as well as potential reforms to the parameters of the existing system to address any inequities.
