Project Summary

The project “SouthWest 4 Asia” is aligned with the current Asian Tourism Development Hub (ATDH) and Asia Engagement Plan (AEP) initiatives of Australia’s South West (ASW) tourism region (including the South West and Great Southern Development Commission regions) and strengthens its potential to pursue an evidence-based product development for selected Asian markets. Innovative products, for example those linked to the sharing economy are crucial in increasing competitiveness of tourism destinations and businesses. The need for authenticity goes without saying, but to satisfy customer, it is seemingly necessary to partially tailor innovative products to markets. This project contributes to better understand practices and instruments of mitigation of tourism experiences in a cross-cultural context in order to increase the acceptance and satisfaction regarding ASW tourism products to emerging Asian markets.
