Dr Xing (Grace) Gao is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Bankwest Curtin Economics Centre. Grace studied at Peking University and Tsinghua University, China, and held internships at a number of different organisations including the China Financial Futures Exchange and China’s National Bureau of Statistics before moving to Australia to undertake postgraduate research. She has recently completed her PhD in Economics at the University of Western Australia on the subject of world food demand.
Grace has a strong background in quantitative analysis applied to research topics on economics and finance. She has diverse research interests relating to commodity prices and demand, the quality and quantity of food consumption, option pricing, cross-country demand comparisons, public policy and governance.
